Where your data lives, and who can see it
This page is written for the person who has to defend the decision in a board meeting. It describes how Campus Base Cloud is built, which safeguards are part of the product and which operating choices are agreed with your school before the introduction.
Your school runs its own installation
Campus Base Cloud is not a shared platform where every school is a row in the same table. Each school gets its own installation with its own database. In data-protection terms your school is the controller and we are a processor acting on your instructions — the same relationship you already have with your accounting software.
Where the servers stand
We agree the hosting location with you in writing before anything is installed. European hosting does not by itself exclude remote administration: authorised support access from Mauritius or the United States can occur when your school instructs us. The location, access path, sub-processors and any required transfer safeguards are therefore part of the written go-live decision.
Donors are separated by a wall, not by a permission
Donor records live in a database of their own, with its own connection and its own circle of roles. The registrar's session cannot reach them. This is not a checkbox somebody could tick off by accident: there is an automated test that fails if that separation ever breaks.
Your money never touches us
Donations and tuition go through your school's own Stripe account. The money moves from the giver to you. It does not pass through a DigitAI account at any point, which is also why we take no percentage — there is nothing for us to take it from.
Your AI contract and key stay yours
The AI tutor connects to a supported remote cloud provider using the key and contract supplied by your school. Tutor conversations are stored in your school's installation under the retention period agreed with you; there is no separate DigitAI AI account in the data path. Authorised administrators can access records only where your instructions, support work and the data processing agreement permit it.
What the AI tutor is not allowed to do
The tutor never gives marks and never influences whether a student progresses. Assessment of learners is a high-risk use under the EU AI Act, and we stay out of it by construction rather than by policy. Students are told they are talking to a machine before the first answer, as Article 50 requires.
Records that can be checked years later
The application appends grades instead of overwriting them: a correction creates a new signed entry, names the entry it corrects and leaves the original visible. A transcript is frozen when issued and carries a code that identifies that exact issue in your records. These are concrete product controls that make later changes traceable.
Getting your data back out
Start the export yourself, any time: a complete copy of your database as CSV per table, plus your uploaded files, in clear text. Donor data comes in its own archive, tied to the fundraising role — the separation survives the export. No fee, no notice, no reason to give.
What your board will want in writing
A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR, the sub-processor list, deletion concept, hosting location, support-access countries and — where applicable — standard contractual clauses, transfer impact assessment and an EU representative. We put these items on the table before productive use, not after it.
Current go-live status
As of 31 August 2026, backup and restore proof, automated deletion and log rotation, the final hosting location, transfer assessment, EU-representative requirement and legal final review remain go-live items. We do not present them as complete. A productive EU launch happens only after the items applicable to your school are documented, tested and accepted in writing.
Who we are
DigitAI Solutions LLC is registered in Florida and led personally by Christian Weidtke. The legal seat is in the United States; the agreed customer hosting can be in Europe, with remote administrative access governed separately as described above. Full details are in the legal notice.
